Data Specialist - Bangalore, India

Role & Responsibilities

Primarily responsible for helping the data manager execute detailed data design work to drive the correct data quality standards (data modelling, mapping, and flow design). Working in partnership with technical and data management teams to handle data configurations and data engineering work.

• Business analysis to understand stakeholder requirements and translate them to technical data model and mapping specifications.
• Provide data quality, data privacy, and data standards requirements.
• Coaching of success managers on brand onboarding requirements for data.
• Consultation and expertise on digital commerce data model.
• Support data engineers in troubleshooting of ETL pipeline issues.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• At least 3 years of experience in the IT industry, in a software development team (primarily in a BA role).
• Hands-on experience in data engineering technologies (SQL, Python, RESTful APIs).
• Hands-on experience in database administration and data modelling.
• Degree in computer science, MIS, or a related field.
• Experience in Cloud Technologies preferred.

Skills

• Application of data technologies (SQL, Linux, Shell Scripting, Relational databases, data models/diagrams, API Driven development, Microservices, CI/CD, Cloud technologies — GCP, AWS and/or Azure).
• Understanding of Data Mining, Data Modeling, and Data Provisioning.
• Nice to have: programming skills, ability to read code (Python, Java, Git, other scripting).

Soft Skills

• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Problem-solving skills, ability to independently manage low-complexity projects.
• Independent learning agility & desire to learn new technologies.
